Emilia,
On behalf of the Class of ’59 I would like to thank you for sending the obituary of Sister Doloria and picture of her and Sister Anilla. That is exactly how we last remember seeing them. For many of us who attended St. Joseph Grammar School before going on to PCH we were privileged to have Sr. Doloria as our fourth grade teacher. It wasn’t until reading her obituary did I realized that our fourth grade class at St. Joe’s was her first teaching assignment in California. We all agree she will definitely be remembered for her great sense of humor and the joy she brought to others. She was always friendly and upbeat. To others she will be remembered as the strictest of disciplinarians; ask Bob Zievers. In that inaugural fourth grade class he was required to stand in a corner of the room for what seemed like hours for dipping the ponytail of one of our classmates in the ink bottle which in those days was positioned in an ink well on the left hand side of our desks. So Sister Doloria, we continue to think of you fondly. Please pray for us in heaven as we do for you here on earth.
Sincerely,
Dave Recupero
On behalf of the Class of ‘59
